Local Workgoup

Local working groups are chaired by the local conservation district and are subcommittees of the State Technical Committee and provide recommendations to USDA on local and state natural resource priorities and criteria for conservation activities and programs.

Why is the topic important? The locally led conservation planning process has proven to be an effective way to increase local participation in the management and protection of natural resources.

During the local workgroup meetings we reivew assessment data, survey results, and NRCS program statistics to recommend local conservation goals.
